Internationally buying and selling Takshak is completely illegal. In Bangladesh, buying and selling Takshak or storing it illegally is a crime. Takshak’s main market is also illegal in China. As the takhak is a wild animal, if caught in any way, it should be released into the wild as soon as possible. There is a class of people in Bangladesh who have been searching for Takshak for years. Wanders in various mountain forest regions of the country including Bandarban and Sylhet.Most of them could not make any profit.
